Just days ago a victim of Ronald Whitby Cayless described his arrest, prosecution and imprisonment as a much longed for resolution to nearly 45 years of pain and anxiety. He could not believe how reading about Cayless being sentenced to 15 months and banned from meeting young boys has lifted a weight of depression from his shoulders. He had discussed the abuse he suffered in Chelsea to several people and they all, including the police, told him to get over it and move on............. He lived with the disgust and self-loathing for over 45 years.
Ronald Whitby Cayless convicted paedophile.
by Ariela Goldstein-Mayer journalist.
This morning I typed into Google.com "Headmaster sentenced for" and exactly as I anticipated a rich harvest of results came from the search. All reports contained gleeful summaries by the police of the investigations they carried out and the arrest of depraved individuals. Each Court report gave long details of the Schools concerned and the cruelty of the abuse. The disgraced Heads, many of them in their 70's & 80's, were sentenced to between three and eight years. These were Headmasters who clearly were dealt with very differently to Ronald Whitby Cayless. In the Cayless case no details were given of his Headships and Deputy Headships or the Schools he taught at and he received a derisory 15 month sentence. The "Grand Organist" of the Masons seems to have been accorded some really special leniency and a very muted set of News reports. I ask why the NSPCC has not, it seems, been involved in stripping away the protection clearly given to convicted paedophile Ronald Whitby Cayless in all this?
Does the "masonic" connection reach into the upper regions of the NSPCC? There are no quotes from Northampton police officers concerning the arrest of paedophile Ronald Whitby Cayless.............why?
One Judge referring to another case with striking similarity to Cayless refers to the abuse as "child rape" and I ask why this term was not used concerning the Cayless case?
My next question is have the Masons removed Ronald Whitby Cayless from their membership.........if not why not?
At the end of this article I will include some News Reports concerning Headmasters who were treated very differently to Ronald Whitby Cayless and list their sentences...................
Nick Clegg's ex-headmaster jailed for abusing boys - BBC ...

6 févr. 2014 - The ex-headmaster of a school attended by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg is jailed for eight years for sexually abusing pupils.
The former headmaster of a school attended by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has been jailed for eight years for sexually abusing five pupils.
Roland Peter Wright, 83, of Farnham Royal, Buckinghamshire, abused boys aged between eight and 13 at Caldicott Preparatory School from 1959 to 1970.
His sentencing went ahead despite the death of another former teacher who had been due to appear with him.
Hugh Henry, 82, apparently threw himself under a train on Tuesday.
'Old and infirm'
Judge Johannah Cutts QC told Wright: "These offences were so serious that it is beyond question that only a custodial sentence can be justified.
"I have to sentence you for multiple offending against each of these victims.
"This was prolonged activity, the boys were groomed by a master at a school responsible for their care."
Mr Clegg was a pupil at the school from 1974 until 1980 and was joint head boy in his final year.
When Wright was convicted in December, Mr Clegg said: "I am shocked and appalled by the gross betrayal of trust and violation of childhood innocence that has been shown to have taken place at Caldicott."
Wright, who served as headmaster at the school for 25 years, lived in a cottage overlooking the school playing fields after his retirement in 1993.
At his trial last year, Amersham Crown Court was told Wright was the centre of a paedophile ring at the school.
He was described by his barrister Jane Bickerstaff QC as "old, frail and infirm".
She said: "Everything he worked so hard to build up. The reputation of the school and its success, which went hand in hand with the defendant's personal reputation and achievements, is all wiped out by the verdicts of the jury.
"His legacy is entirely different - that is the hardest blow to a man who dedicated his life to building the school and its reputation."
'Charismatic and charming'
In jailing him, Judge Cutts said: "I heard evidence that you were an inspirational teacher, both of French and of rugby. You taught French and also coached sport, predominantly, rugby.
"You were clearly charismatic and charming to boys and parents alike but there was a darker side to your tuition of these boys.
"Boys craved your attention and strove for your praise. From those, you picked out boys for your individual sexual attentions."
His bedsit was next to the senior boys' dormitory allowing him to "set up your own little fiefdom and use it to abuse boys".
The jury heard that on more than one occasion Wright and Hugh Henry went into the senior boys' dormitory after lights out when they had been drinking alcohol.
The judge said that she was satisfied Wright's offending came to an end after he became headmaster, moved out of his bedsit next to the dormitories and got married.
"It seems your new role, marital status and residence brought these offences to an end."
'Public abhorrence'
During the trial, evidence of abuse was also heard from other men who had been part of a trial brought against Wright in 2003 relating to further claims of abuse in the 1960s.
That trial was stayed.
Another former teacher, John Addrison, 54, from Slough, was convicted of child sexual offences at Caldicott and sentenced to five years jail in 2012. A fourth teacher was acquitted.
A statement from the school said: "Caldicott shares the public abhorrence that adults in a position of trust and responsibility at the school abused children in their care during the 1960s and 1970s.
"We apologise fully both to those who gave evidence of their abuse and to any others who might have been reluctant to come forward.
"Thirty years on, Caldicott is now a very different school ... our policies are fully in line with current legal requirements and these policies, which were developed with guidance from police and child protection regulators, are constantly being updated in conjunction with changes in the law."

Former headteacher jailed for 21 years for beatings and sex ...

The following is a repeat and revision of my original article: The most intriguing element of this conviction of Ronald Whitby Cayless for what is in effect child rape is that no mention is made by the BBC journalists, Press journalists or the Northampton Police that these sickening offences took place while paedophile Cayless was Headmaster of the prestigious St. Peter's CE Junior School in Eaton Square 1980 to 1992. In fact, all that is said is that Ron Cayless was a "music teacher." There is also no mention that paedophile Ron Cayless was Headmaster of Holy Trinity School in Hampstead 1974 to 1980.
It would seem to me that there has been an attempt at "damage limitation" on behalf of Ron Cayless, and an attempt to leave other victims of this ruthless character ignorant of his prosecution and conviction. This is truly bizarre because in all other cases I have studied the Police have gleefully released details of the abuser's previous Headships and employment with children! My conclusion is that paedophile Cayless has been afforded protection by his Masonic connections and I will give details on these later in this article. Similarly no mention is made by the BBC, Press or Police that he organised numerous choirs with very young boys over a period of 60 years. Why isn't the NSPCC involved in tracking down other victims?
The next issue I find intriguing is that his 15 month sentence is hopelessly lenient in comparison with other abusers and child rapists like Chris Denning. The victim gave details of the psychological damage done by these offences and yet 15 months is considered an adequate sentence! Why?
Throughout his period as Headmaster of Holy Trinity and St. Peter's School paedophile Ron Cayless was quite triumphalist about his Masonic connections and influence. I understand this was also the case when he was Deputy Head of a school in Chelsea.
Ron Cayless, I am told, made it clear that he had the power to make and break teaching careers when he was Headmaster of these two schools and as a consequence teachers and ancillary staff were very wary of raising suspicions about the "extra tuition" Cayless afforded to certain pupils. I am told that these pupils were invariably pretty or handsome boys. I have also been informed that one of his "extra tuition" boys committed suicide while in India doing charitable work. The suicide was hushed up and covered by excuses concerning ill-health!
During the time at Holy Trinity School in Hampstead paedophile Cayless preferred and promoted an unbridled sex pest who sexually assaulted young female teachers in the school and even told his class about his own exploits with prostitutes at the age of 13. This sex pest teacher also boasted of an attempt to seduce a pupil at the neighbouring South Hampstead High School. One particular female teacher was so bullied and intimidated by this sex pest that she suffered a severe mental breakdown and was forced to resign from Holy Trinity School. She received no support from Ron Cayless. This sex pest openly joined the Masons while at Holy Trinity and was preferred by Cayless to another School in Hampstead as Deputy Head. The Head of St.Paul's Elsworthy Road, at this time, was another Masonic associate of Ron Cayless from his teaching employment in Chelsea and seems to have been delighted to appoint this sex pest to his staff. Later this very same sex pest became Head of St.Paul's Elsworthy Road and had a reputation for sadistic behaviour and extreme cruelty. His particular interest was young girls rather than boys. You would not know about this "dark side" if you read the glowing testimonials on the retirement of this sex pest a few years back.
It is clear tha paedophile Ron Cayless used "music" as a cover for some vile offences and that powerful connections have done much to mute publicity about his conviction for what is in effect child rape. In all the reports of the conviction at Northampton even the address of Cayless in Wimbledon is mispelled.
The most astonishing issue is that Cayless has been ordered to not come into contact with boys under 18yo but this conviction barely appears on internet search engines and other victims will only discover that Cayless has been judged and convicted by chance. The internet is however awash with notices concerning former choirs and church choirs organised by Cayless. It seems to me that all the alarm bells about this ruthless child abuser have been buried deep.................

A FORMER priest and headteacher has been jailed for 10 years for molesting two boys.
Christopher Howarth, 68, was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court after being found guilty of 26 counts of historic sexual abuse against the young boys.
He groomed them using cash and gifts when they were aged between 10 and 17.
The former deputy headteacher at Uckfield Community Technology College had denied allegations, saying they were motivated by “financial gain” and that he was too overweight to be sexually active.
But jurors at Hove Crown Court convicted him in July of 26 out of the 31 allegations which took place at his home and at the college.
Howarth, of Rocks Park Road, Uckfield, had already pleaded guilty to an offence against one of the boys.
The court heard how one of the victims first revealed the abuse to his mother seven years later as he was about to meet a support worker to discuss his misuse of cannabis.
Howarth was a priest at St Michael’s in Little Horsted, Holy Cross in Uckfield and St Margaret’s in Ifield until December 2012.
He was deputy headteacher at Uckfield Community Technology College until 2007.
The married retiree justified his sexual behaviour to one of the boys as “preparing him for getting a girlfriend” so that he would not be “scared”, the court heard.

The second victim came to police with fresh allegations following press reports of Howarth’s arrest in 2012, saying the coverage had brought back “all the memories he had tried to forget”.
Mr Howarth told jurors he was in “total, utter shock” when he was arrested by police a fortnight after being suspended as a priest in December 2012.
He said during one incident in which he sexually abused one of the boys, he was carrying out a therapeutic role-playing exercise recommended by a specialist in the 1970s.
Asked why he had given the boys gifts and cash, Mr Howarth told the court he and his wife wanted to “share something of the good life that we have had”.
He added: “Ever since I have been ordained I have on Christmas Day dressed as Santa and used to visit families in the parish.
“I would take a bag full of family presents which I would give out to the children.”
